CERTIFIED BIRTH DOULA SERVING THE MID-WILAMETTE VALLEY
I have been working with families as a birth doula in the Mid-Willamette Valley since 2014, and became DONA certified in 2015. With a bachelor’s degree that focuses on Intercultural Communication, I deeply honor and respect whatever birth beliefs, practices, and traditions my clients hold sacred. I am happy to serve at births in hospitals, homes, or birth centers. As your doula I work for you, and am independent and self-employed.
I have experience caring for families who have had a variety of different births, including: water births, planned epidurals, non-medicated births, single parents, medical inductions, C-sections and VBACs (vaginal birth after cesarean).
As the mother of four children, I have had first-hand experiences with an array of different pregnancies and births. I delivered 3 of my babies in a hospital; including one high risk pregnancy and one two inductions. My fourth child was born at home.
The power of a loving and spiritual passage into this world for your little one is priceless and something I hold in high regard. I strongly believe in a mother’s primal ability to labor and give birth and am in awe of the mind/body connection that instinctively tells a mother what she needs to do during labor.
I will give you my constant and full attention, staying in-tune with your needs as well as being attentive to your support people. Giving birth is an empowering passage, and everyone deserves to have a positive birth experience.
Having experienced birth with a doula and without, I know the vast difference that a doula makes to the birth experience. My husband and I wish we would have hired a doula to be with us for the births of our first two children. We can only begin to imagine how it would have enhanced their beginnings and our transition into parenthood. That's why I am a doula: because I have personally experienced the difference it makes and am passionate about giving that gift to others.
